It is with deep sadness that we honor the life and legacy of Tom Corontzos, former Wyoming Cowboys quarterback, whose passing has left the university community, former teammates, and loved ones in mourning. A remarkable student-athlete and leader, Tom’s contributions both on and off the field will never be forgotten.
Tom Corontzos proudly represented the University of Wyoming from 1988 to 1991, leaving an enduring mark on the Cowboys football program. As quarterback, he demonstrated exceptional skill, determination, and leadership, throwing for nearly 8,000 career yards—a testament to his talent and dedication to the game. His performance on the field earned him admiration from fans and respect from teammates and opponents alike.
Beyond his athletic achievements, Tom was equally distinguished in the classroom. As a CFA Scholar-Athlete, he exemplified the true spirit of a student-athlete, balancing the demands of academics and athletics with discipline and excellence. His commitment to both pursuits set a standard for others to follow and reflected his strong character and work ethic.
Those who knew Tom remember him not only for his accomplishments but for his integrity, humility, and the camaraderie he shared with others. He was a teammate who inspired those around him, a friend who offered support and encouragement, and a person who carried himself with dignity and respect.
The Wyoming Cowboys community, often referred to as the Brown and Gold family, mourns the loss of one of its own. His legacy lives on through the memories he created, the records he set, and the impact he made on the program and the people within it.
As we remember Tom Corontzos, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and admired him. May they find comfort in the legacy he leaves behind and the many lives he touched.
Tom Corontzos will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always honored as a proud Wyoming Cowboy.
